Title: Basics of Project Scheduling with MS Project

Description: This 3-day course is focused on two key concepts: “What does it mean to plan a project?” and “How do we use tools to create project schedules?” Planning a project is far more than just creating a schedule, and alternately, a schedule is not the same as a project plan. We’ll explore both “plan” and “schedule” in detail. We will do so from the perspective of a project professional, rather than be guided by the tool.

Why Microsoft Project and not Primavera, Prolog, Artemis, Planview, Niku, or one of the many other tools? MS Project is perhaps one of the most accessible tools due to its high market share and affordability.

This course is suitable for junior and mid-level project/program managers, project schedulers, and other project professionals responsible for creating project schedules.

Title: Risk Assessment Framework for Project Leaders

Description: Managing projects can be a risky business! If a natural disaster 150 miles away forced the cancellation of your major weekend event, would your business be able to afford the financial consequences? If your hosting service or SharePoint site had a disk drive crash, would your one-of-a-kind documents or content be recoverable? What would happen if your chief engineer decided not to come to work anymore? If your answer is “no” or “I don’t know” to any of these questions, this session is for you! This 1-2 hour session is an introduction to the PPC Group, LLC Risk Assessment Framework, a simple, scalable, and robust process which can be understood and put into use in a matter of hours, not days or weeks. You will be able to easily find, expose, and mitigate the risks and exploit opportunities associated with your projects.

This course is suitable for all project leadership roles, especially those responsible for project risk management.
